My Story:

Daughter of Mrs. Jane Kihara and the late George F. Kihara, raised in Palolo, Hawaii, my passion for cooking began at a very early age and my clipping of recipes began while I was in the 6th grade.

My Christmas project for 1996 was a result of many requests from friends for some of my specialty "pot luck" item recipes, thus I began to sort through "my collection" in hopes of compiling these gifts. some 1,600 recipes later, my husband and I decided perhaps we had enough to actually put a book together, and the project began in February of 1996.

Much of my collection is a result of my un-dying passion for food, and my personal challenge to try to re-create the favorite dishes of evenings out. Having been in the Food and Beverage field since 1973, I have had the pleasure of quite an array of fine meals. My history of Food and Beverage began with Victoria Station in 1973, John Dominis Restaurant, The Chart House Ilikai and now Liberty House. Dd's Table Talk is a result of timeless "talks" and endless sharing from friends and family. My life is truly blessed and I hope to bring hours of enjoyment to other kitchens and homes.
